In Thailand it was the rainy season which is the reason why we didn’t pick it as our main destination.  It did rain everyday we were there but not while we  were outside.

Thailand was a nice stopover on the way to Bali, which is a 17 hour flight otherwise. On our return flight we were forced to spend more time in Thailand because on the days we were able to leave Bali,  the continuing flights from Bangkok were booked out.

Out first stay in Bangkok we enjoyed the city with a a tour introducing the many quarters including China town, and then investigating the city on our own, visiting  several temples and other buildings of particular interest.

The second time we stayed in a different part of town and spent one day visiting the surrounding areas.

The Thai people were very well organized and the  tourist attractions very comercialized. I enjoyed Bali more since we were able to see the everyday life and none of the ceremonies where presented extra for the tourists.

On the following pages are some  impressions of Thailand although in most cases presented for tourists.

Bangkok is known for its opportunities for exquisite dining and great shopping.  You can purchase imitation brand name products of poor  quality for a few dollars. At home you can appear to have expensive brand name clothes.  If  I needed tailor made fashion I think I would have something made in the many shops which had very intricate sewn  garments in their windows. A shame I don’t need this type of clothing. The dining is great. Other than that, it is one of the biggest cities I have seen and worth a short visit to get an impression or longer if   you are into shopping.

Since I love observing people the visit was great.  Since I sometimes have problems with taking photos of people the pictures do not do the city justice.  The people are the heart of  everything which I did not catch with the camera.

Enjoy the photos anyway.
