1940s Winchester Mystery House

In the 1940s Verene's grandfather was stationed in the San Francisco Bay Area. He bought a variety of pictures of various Bay Area sights. The ones that showed the Winchester Mystery house are shown here. Today the house has been refurnished, but in the 1940s and through the 1960s when I visited it, it was as Sarah Winchester's heirs had left it, stripped of everything that could be carried off except a few uninstalled windows in the basement that seem to have been missed.
