![]() | This set of bells from 443 B.C. was found in a tomb and is the only complete set known. The one differently shaped bell is not for playing, but contains inscriptions telling that the bells were a token of friendship from the ruler of one small kingdom to that of his neighbor (I believe they were rulers, particularly in view of the sets of 9 projections from the bells. 9 is a nmber reserved for use by emperors.) This was at the Hubei Provincial Museum. |
![]() | Garr stands near the bells to give an idea of their size. |
![]() | A map showing where the tomb was found that contained many of the items in the Hubei Provincial Museum. |
![]() | A wine cooler and warmer. |
![]() | Another item from the tomb. Notes say it's a mirror, but it doesn't look like one, more like a kettle. |
![]() | This barbeque, found in the ancient tomb, still had traces of carp that had been cooked in the top pan. |
