Western style toilets existed in some of the tourist locations but without toilet paper, unless you brought your own. However all the hotels we stayed in were equiped to make us westerners feel at home. |

![]() | This sculpture was to be viewed by the Emperor after its completion. When a peice broke off the night before the Emperor arrived, a clever workman fixed it with a piece of wood shaped and painted to match. This is located in front of the museum. |
