| Still inside the Burg Eltz central courtyard. In the dark corner to the right in the foreground are some of the stone balls the Elector lobbed at the castle. They were slightly over a foot in diameter I believe. |

| The castle is surrounded on both sides and the back by the Eltz river. The picture at left is the Eltz River just downstream of the castle where it reenters the woods. |

| This is a small town on the Mosel River, not for from Burg Eltz. This is wine country, but we were there at the wrong time of year for samples. |
